Tzatziki also known as tarator dip, soup or sauce was fist found in the cuisines of southeast Europe and the Middle East. Tarator was the original name of a dip made of grounded walnuts along with vinegar which goes back to the ottoman empire. It later tuned into consisting yoghurt and cucumbers sometimes with walnuts reminiscing a lot of what we today know as tzatziki.
