The first man to originally invent dog food was
businessman James Spratt back in England in 1860’s, and canned dog food or wet
food was not introduced until 1922 by James Chapel an Englishman living in the
US. Wet food primarily made from horse meat as James Chapel owned a horse farm
supplying horses to soldier. When the horses passed away the meat was used for
canned dog food and it quickly became popular. Up till today where there is a
very large variety and range of pet food depending on flavor, brand, texture,
ingredients, etc.
